Quinceaneras! Planning your big day with a good itinerary and program can be a daunting task, that's why Quinceañeras Gallery by Juan Huerta Photography and Video offers you this suggested timeline to help you with a smooth, fun, successful 15 celebration for your big day.


Every quinceañera event is different, especially because you are indeed, very different and unique! Therefore, you don't really have to follow exactly what other quinceaneras do for their party celebration or strictly follow the suggested timeline posted below, as this is just a very general suggestion based out on what we usually see. 



Do you have to hire an event coordinator? That's a very good question! Depending on your budget or event venue, sometimes is wise to hire a professional event planner for your big day. Some event venues and halls offer the planning and coordinating services as part of the packages. Check your contract with the venue and ask. If not included, you shouldn't stress out over it anyways, but please understand that good planning is key for a successful event. If you decide to hire a professional event planner after all, make sure that the person you choose is familiar with the traditions that are part of many quinceañeras celebrations.



This article is meant to give you some ideas on how to plan your quinceanera event and what traditional moments and events are usually added to the timeline. 

1. GETTING READY (Approx. Starting Time: 6:00 AM)


LOCATION: Your house (or the stylist's place, the hall or someone else's house, like a good friend or family member).  

Time to get dollied up! Makeup and hair can take a lot of time so plan accordingly and choose a location with plenty of space for yourself and all your family, friends and guests who may have also planned to get makeup and hair with the same vendor.


WHAT'S PART OF IT? This is a great photo and video opportunity to showcase your dress by itself along with many of the accessories that you have lined up for your party. 

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? The "Getting Ready" session is precisely that, your moment to start get ready so you can look at your best! It can definitely be a very glamorous moment to showcase and anticipate the great party you have ahead. Connect with your guest and your court, smile, live the moment and enjoy!

1. LIMO PICK-UP (Approx. Starting Time: 12:00 PM)

LOCATION: Your house (or the stylist's place, the hall or someone else's house, like a good friend or family member).  

The party is on! The princess gets a fancy ride! Sometimes a limo, sometimes a party bus, but the the fun is still the same. This a great opportunity for you, your court and your friends to enjoy a limo ride together, some good music and good times on your way to your ceremony, a park, the mall or your reception hall.


WHAT'S PART OF IT? This is a great photo and video opportunity to showcase your dress by itself along with many of the accessories that you have lined up for your party.

FORMAL PICTURES: Right after the ceremony comes a very important opportunity for you, your immediate family members and padrinos to get formal pictures by the altar. The time for "formals" is very limited, that's why it's wise to let friends and other guests know that you can have pictures with them later on the evening at the hall.

4. PARK (Approx. Starting Time: 3:00 PM)

LOCATION: Church or your event venue (reception or banquet hall)

If your hall or venue does not have a suitable courtyard, plan on stopping by a nearby park to get some shots and video with your crew!





6:00 PM - The Hall: Arrival of Quinceanera and Guests 

Arrive with your crew and get ready to party! 



7:00 PM - Dinner and Mariachi!

Time to eat! 

8:00 PM - Presentation, Crowning and Waltz 

Here comes the princess!



9:00 PM - Let's get this Party Started! Surprise Dances, Surprise Gift...

It's party time! 



10:00 PM - Cake cutting and Toast
